He was born in Zama, Miss., on Feb. 6, 1934, to John E. and Myrtle DuBard Massey. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War, retiring after 20 years of service with the rank of Sergeant First Class. During his time in the Army he earned several medals and commendations, including a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster. After retiring from the Army, Mr. Massey owned and operated a machine tool service and sales business for many years. He was a member and deacon of Bethlehem Baptist Church near Kilmichael and a 32nd Degree Mason.Mr. Massey is survived by three sons, Michael Massey of Biloxi, Tony Massey of Horn Lake and Greg Massey of Greenwood; sisters, Jane Magnusson of Minnesota and Anna Louise Jones (Jimmy) of Grenada; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces a...
